Quinn’s Hot Springs Resort is a little piece of paradise nestled in a small canyon on the Clark Fork River outside of Paradise, MT.

Quinn’s is named for Martin Quinn, an Irish immigrant and miner. Martin married an English noblewoman, named Fannie. In 1884, Fannie and her daughter Minnie, fled the Midwest and a badly arranged marriage for freedom in the wilderness of Montana. Here, she found the love of her life in the self-taught, great Renaissance man and explorer Martin Quinn, a romantic man with rough but real charm.

Martin discovered the secluded hot springs in the early 1880’s. During his mining transports on the Clark Fork river, he had seen Indians gathering there. Martin staked his claim and built a residence, bathhouses and sleeping accommodations for his guests.

Over the years, Quinn’s grew and changed with the times. New buildings were added, roads were built, but Quinn’s remained a steady presence on the banks of the Clark Fork.

In the 1930’s, the forest surrounding Quinn’s became the Lolo National Forest West. In 1948, the Forest Service constructed a dirt track to Quinn’s from Highway 200. Jack and Dick Harwood, Martin Quinn’s grandsons, returned from their World War II service and with the financing available through the GI Bill, the Harwood boys built the Harwood House. Today, the Harwood House still stands and houses the restaurant.

Today, Quinn’s Hot Spring Resort continues to serve and delight visitors, just as it did in the beginning. The beauty of the river, the seclusion of the forest and the healing powers of the water combine to create a special place where staff and guests finds themselves drawn to again and again.
